Phang Nga Bay with original Sea Canoe

pha nga bay with original sea canoe 2The Phang Nga Bay National Marine Park is a natural art gallery full of majestic limestone formations. This amazing seascape which you might already have seen while landing at Phuket airport is a real unclassified world wonder. There are a lot of "hongs", which means rooms in Thai. These "hongs" are inland open-air tidal lagoons surrounded by sheer cliffs up to 100 meters high. The entries to these "hongs" in some cases are only open for 15-20 minutes a day.
During low tide, the bottom of the cave can be seen with its standing razor sharp rocks and deep mud. Which are not visible on High tide interim. When the sea reaches it right level, one can paddle canoe through the tidal caves to enter the hidden lagoons. There are hundreds of fruit bats and swallow nests are hanging on to the cliffs. If you are lucky you might encounter macaques, king fishers, hornbills, or mudskippers.
